Can I finish quicker than in the year allocated?

If you are 16-18 the Apprenticeship must have at least a 12 month duration. If you are 19+ there is the option to complete the Apprenticeship quicker, but not before 6 months from the start of your training.

Do I get UCAS points at the end of the course?

Yes, each Apprenticeship carries different UCAS points.

Will the course help me into University?

Yes, Apprenticeships are a recognised route into University.

Can I take the course over more than a Year?

Yes, with agreement from Heathercroft Training Academy.

Do we get paid for the course?


Is the course free?

Yes, if you are aged between 16-18 your Apprenticeship is free and for those learners aged over 19 they will require a contribution from their employers towards their training.


Management / HSC
Do I have to go to college?

No all the training takes place in the workplace the only occasion you might be asked to attend the centre is if you require extra support with your Functional Skills Training.

What happens now? (after completing the application form)

A tutor will be in touch to make an appointment to sign you into the course. This meeting takes approximately 1 ½ – 2 hours.

When will I get some certificates?

You receive your certificates once all of the components of the Apprenticeship have been completed.

Will I get my portfolio back?

Yes, after the External Verifier for your Apprenticeship has agreed and released your portfolio.

Is there any other training I can do after my Apprenticeship?

Heathercroft Training Academy offer Intermediate, Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships.


How long is the Traineeship course?

3-6 months.

Can I complete it earlier?


Is it full time?

The course is 30 hours per week.

Can I go to college at the same time?

No, as the Traineeship course is already being funded by the Government.

Do I have to do an Apprenticeship?

No, but Heathercroft would encourage you to do so, or move into a job or a different course.
