Schools work

Schools work

Over the past three years, Heathercroft Training Academy has become involved in working with a number of local schools. These partnerships provide a clear pathway for the learners as they are able to start studying a particular subject and follow it right through to Advanced Apprenticeship level if they choose.

A good example of this is in the Child Care sector. Students at Bishop Bell, Causeway and Chailey have the opportunity to start studying this subject when they are in Year 9. Many continue into Years 10 and 11 and go on to their Apprenticeships and beyond.

More recently, Heathercroft has been able to offer Horse Care awards to students at Bishop Bell School. The students spend time at local stables learning how to ride and care for the horses. They are able to gain NVQ Level Two qualifications. Heathercroft also works closely with Bishop Bell in the delivery of IT Apprenticeships.

We see this work as an initial link between the schools and future employment or learning opportunities. Those who start their specific pathway of learning at school progress well and develop into well rounded qualified people who can make informed choices of where they want to be in the near future.

We are able to work with the schools to offer a choice in which way to travel along the career pathway.
