Parent Info
Heathercroft Training Academy have been delivering vocational training to students in and around Eastbourne for 20 years.
Schools in the area know the benefits of vocational training - and we work closely with those schools in helping both younger students - and older 16+ students to understand and choose their options - so that if they want to, they can do vocational training and complete Apprenticeships.
As a parent, you want the very best for your child, and as far as vocational training is concerned - we can help you with that!
The benefits of vocational training - from a parent's point of view
- Your child will be studying with others who have the same interests as them.
- Vocational qualifications are done in conjunction with GCSE’s and other academic qualifications.
- Your child can start on their chosen career path as early as year 9 and continue right through to Advanced Apprenticeship level.
- The courses we currently support the schools with are Child Care, ICT and Horse Care.
- If you would like more information regarding the vocational courses that the schools and Heathercroft deliver, please contact the school.
- Students have the opportunity to get paid while they learn.
- The skills and knowledge gained helps a student to succeed in his or her current role and become a more valuable employee. This improves the Apprentice’s salary and promotion prospects.
- Students can start Apprenticeships when then they want to and can work at their own pace. An Apprenticeship takes about 12 months.
- Vocational qualifications, such as Apprenticeships, are recognized nationally and can provide an alternative route into higher education.
This diagram does not include all the qualifications or progression routes possible at levels 2 to 6.
Also entry requirements to higher education may vary according to subject and Institution.
We have been providing Vocational Training to students for over 20 years during which time many thousands of students have successfully achieved their qualifications.
