Health and Social Care is about helping and supporting others, often vulnerable people who may be elderly, unwell or suffering from mental health problems.
If you are instinctively a caring person, then you should find a career in this field extremely rewarding.
The level 2 Apprenticeship will give you the necessary skills to perform a variety of care tasks – with some guidance and supervision. You will be expected to know and understand both the practical and theoretical aspects of the work.
The range of possible job roles and circumstances is vast: children’s homes, care homes, hospitals or working as a community support officer. You could work for the NHS, some other public sector organisation or, possibly, a private care provider. Your duties could include anything from assisting someone to take their medication to working with a person’s family to support their care needs.
To get your Level 2 qualification, you will need to achieve the following:
