In the years since 1991, Heathercroft Training Academy has worked successfully with many employers in the local area around Eastbourne and thousands of our young people have gained Apprenticeship qualifications through our courses.  We are proud of our record of success in helping both local employers and the young people involved.

  • Students have the opportunity to get paid while they learn.
  • The skills and knowledge gained helps a student to succeed in his or her current role and become a more valuable employee.  This improves the Apprentice’s salary and promotion prospects.
  • Students can start Apprenticeships when then they want to and can work at their own pace.  An Apprenticeship takes about 12 months.
  • Vocational qualifications, such as Apprenticeships, are recognized nationally and can provide an alternative route into higher education.

This diagram does not include all the qualifications or progression routes possible at levels 2 to 6. 

Also entry requirements to higher education may vary according to subject and Institution.

We have been providing Vocational Training to students for over 20 years during which time many thousands of students have successfully achieved their qualifications. 

Our success rates, both overall and  ‘timely’, have exceeded national targets in all respects for the last 5 years running.

The welfare, health and safety of our students are our prime concern.  The team at Heathercroft Training Academy is here to offer practical information and advice and to provide help with any problems which may arise during your course.

If you decide to employ are young person specifically as an Apprentice who is between the ages of 16-18 they  are entitled by law to receive the Apprentice wage which is a minimum of £2.50 per hour.

On average, apprentices earn about £170 per week. All Apprentices are required to work for at least 16 hours per week.

Learner will not usually be expected to be released form the work place to attend the centre for day release unless specifically required to do so for a particular component of their award. The Apprenticeship is made up of different components, all of which are aimed at improving the all round skills of the workforce.

Employers are able to participate in the development of their staff by supporting them and providing a pathway for their career progression.

All organisations are carefully vetted for health and safety to ensure that all learners are working in a safe environment and that they understand their responsibilities towards the safety and well being of all employees.

Heathercroft welcome input from the employers and encourage them to take an active part in the development of their staff who are undertaking vocational training.

Heathercroft acknowledge the employers role in developing their staff at their annual award ceremony, when special awards are given to employers in recognition of their contributions.
