About Heathercroft Training Academy

History and Ethos

Heathercroft Training Academy (HTA), the trading name of Heathercroft Training Services Limited was established in 1991 as an approved Training and Assessment Centre operating in Sussex, Kent and South London. HTA is approved to deliver a wide variety of Apprenticeships including Childcare, Children and Young People’s Workforce, Early Years Educator, Classroom assistant, Health and Social Care, ICT, Business Admin, Customer Service, Management and more recently Cleaning and Environmental sectors.

The company is managed by an Executive Board comprising two Directors and the Business and Performance Manager. HTA operates from its head office in Eastbourne, East Sussex. The Company employs around 18 members of staff, utilising the services of one part-time, self-employed Internal Verifier. The Company has held the Investors in People Award since 1996 and the Matrix Standard since July 2009, and is currently a Grade 2 Ofsted Independent Training provider holding its own direct contract with the Skills Funding Agency.

Success rates for the past three years have remained consistently above both the provider group and national averages. Rates for 2015/16 exceeded the national average by 10% for Success and by 11% for Timely success.

Support for our Apprenticeship learners is provided by vocationally experienced and qualified tutor/assessors and workplace mentors. Learners on all programmes develop well and improve their personal and employability skills. Employer engagement and partnership working is good. The majority of learners receive training on a one-to-one basis in the workplace, with input delivered by tutors working closely with employers. Additional learner support is available for those who may need it to progress through their training.
